Build Collections
We believe that everyone in our community should have access to the wealth of resources at Humboldt County Library – be it bound books, talking books, or e-books – they are there to inspire, educate, and enjoy. Your donations to the Humboldt Library Foundation allow us to make annual grants to the Humboldt County Library to purchase books and materials for circulation across the library system – that means the Main Branch and all ten branch libraries including the bookmobile, which serves 14 outlying communities. No matter where you are in the county, if you have access to a computer you can go online, see what’s in the collection, reserve it, and/or have it delivered to your branch library. It is convenient, you own it. It is yours!
Amazing Facts from 2016
In 2017, your contributions enabled us to make a $65,200 grant to the library - based on funds raised during the 2016 calendar year.
The grant targets $20,000 for new books and materials to be circulated system-wide; sets aside $10,000 in grants to branch libraries to purchase popular titles for local patrons through the McNaughton program; provides $15,000 for staff development and new programming; $9,200 for Masterfile researching software; $8,000 for development of a new library logo and branding strategy and $1,500 for STEAM products. HLF has also set aside $1,500 for the Children’s Author Festival.
We have continued to annually build our Endowment Fund which was established to enhance library services for the long term.
So, next time you are in the library and looking at the ‘NEW BOOKS’ shelf, take pride in your contribution. You’ve helped to add
