The Humboldt Library Foundation and all of the Friends organizations in Humboldt County work to raise funds to support the purchase of more books and materials and provide additional library programming. The Friends are a membership organization and provide hundreds of volunteer hours helping to deliver services and keep books on the shelves in all the branches. They also accept book donations and hold the very popular Book Sales, from the Serendipity Book Store at the Main branch in Eureka to each of the regular book sales at branches throughout the county.
At the Humboldt Library Foundation we focus on fundraising across the community through annual events and direct appeals, such as the Board of Sponsors, Buy A Book Campaign, and our Annual Holiday Gala. In addition, we focus on developing major gifts and bequests, make annual grants to the library to purchase books and materials, and support a variety of library programming.
We are also building a long-term endowment, theĀ HLF Endowment Fund. These funds are collected and invested for the purpose of providing for the library in perpetuity.
